Numerical Study to Investigate the Performance of U-shaped Flat Plate Solar Collector Using Phase Change Materials (PCMs)

Thermal solar collector considers one of the main devices employed to transform energy into thermal and can be classified three types named Evacuated tube (ETC), flat plate (FPC), compound parabolic (CPC) collector. In this study, where it was taken evacuated collectors different geometries inner pipe diameter were proposed combined with type phase change materials (PCM) evaluate their performance using PCM. And mass flow rate 0.5 L\min, A validated computational fluid dynamic (CFD) model used in examination. The data indicates that highest outlet water temperature observed at 45 ºC from 1:00 pm 2:00 for case-1 a smooth pipe, whereas case-2 two lobes case-3 four lobes, maximum temperatures 41 40 ºC. respectively, results showed Paraffin wax has best efficiency among cases.
